Quote Challenge day 2 – Henry David Thoreau

I was nominated to join the Quote Challenge by Lady Ash’s Diwan, and happily accepted the challenge. Day 1 I posted a quote by Annie Leibovitz, and today it’s a gentlemans turn to be quoted here on my blog.

“I took a walk in the woods and came out taller than trees.”

Henry David Thoreau

After a walk in the woods I feel strengthened. Both in body and mind. I think it gives me something that I really need to function as a human being. It makes sense that nature makes us feel that way, as nature provides us with everything that we need to live. The air that we breath, the food that we eat and the water that we drink all originates from nature. And nature also provides something else. Being in nature provides the best way to clear our minds, think the long thoughts and get grounded. Thoreau wrote this quote after spending two years in undisturbed nature, and knowing the context the quote speaks for itself.

As I mentioned in my last Quote Challenge post, I have done a little twist with this challenge and only nominate three fellow bloggers throughout the challenge. I hope you will forgive me and look forward to reading your quotes!
