What I’m thankful for

I have so many things to be thankful for this year, as I have had all my life. And I’m going to give you a list and some images to illustrate just that below. But first I want to share something that I feel particularly thankful for right now, as I write this post.
As I have come to terms with the fact that my injury has changed me and my life, I have sent in a claim for patient injury compensation. My claim being that I should have been sent to surgery much earlier than I was. And a week ago I got a copy of a letter containing the statements from the doctors that first examined me right after my injury. The statement reads; “We are sorry to conclude that the examination of the patient on the 30th of July 2014 was not according to good medical practice.” I’m so thankful for the fact that they are humble enough to say that a mistake was made. It definitely does not mean that I will get a compensation, but to me it feels amazing that someone acknowledges that they didn’t do a good enough job to prevent the consequences that this injury has had for me and my life. It feels like a small part of the burden has been lifted from my shoulders. And for that I am truly thankful.
I’m also thankful for;
– My family and all the love they bring into my life.
– The fact that I get to live in Norway, with its safe and predictable living conditions.
– Snow. Even though it’s not useful, it brings so much joy and excitement and amazing moments.
– Friends and acquaintances that make me laugh and smile
– Being able to grow my own food
– My camera which lets me dive into my own place of serenity, solitude and calm
– Skis and bikes and the freedom they bring
– My fur baby Zelda wagging her tail like crazy and welcoming me home like I’m the single most amazing person in the world every time I come home from work
– Mountains and their magnificence that just put me in awe over and over again
The list goes on, but let me just end with this for now;
I’m so thankful for being able to recognize that I have so much to be thankful for.
