Spring is here. And the first weeks of spring flew by as we were been busy enjoying them.
We started with a few days taking advantage of the fact that we live by Norways biggest lake. In my last post I posted a few images from our lunch at the beach to watch the partial solar eclipse. The post had nothing to do with the solar eclipse, or lunch for that matter. It was about me consuming less content. Making more stuff. Because life generally is better when you make stuff. And I did. Make stuff. This video for instance. (Yes, this is a shameless plug, but bear with me.)
Then we headed to our neighboring town for a calm walk along the lake. The boys were busy exploring whatever obstacle that could be climbed, balanced or jumped from. As per usual we brought lunch that we had at the dog park. Is it weird hanging out at the dog park now that we no longer have a dog? I don’t know, and I kind of don’t care. It had park tables and the boys enjoyed parkouring around the agility obstacles. No dogs were using them at the moment. Just to make it clear that we weren’t interfering or anything.
I had brought the camera with me to see if I could capture a few images for the yearly photobook I make for the family. It’s so easy to forget about documenting every day adventures like these. But the thing is; life is mostly everyday adventures. The big adventures are much further between.
I like to call them adventures. Even if they are just a short trip to the beach or the park. Or a stroll through the forest. I find that if I treat them like adventures, I am more present and tend to remember them for longer. I pull more energy from an adventure than an outing, even if they are exactly the same.
Well, spring is here. And with it my urge for more adventures like these. Small ones that just make us get outside and enjoy the fact that nature is waking up once again. I hope you’re all having adventures as well this spring. And that you remember to document them.
All the best,
Tonje
