Friday we prepared for Easter. Today we had our first digital dinner party. We are doing our best to keep a sense of normality. And Easter is synonymous with spending time with family for us.
Baby boy with a fever – just a cold?
Baby boy has had a very light fever since midnight. Normally we would conclude that he is getting a cold. And since we’re trying to keep everything as normal as possible, that’s also the theory we’re going with now. However we know that we can’t be sure. So we’re extra careful with keeping our distance until the fever is gone. Staying at home, being grateful for digital ways of socializing and the fact that we have our own garden to roam.
Digital dinner party
I miss my family even more around holidays. And this year the distance just seems to be a bit longer between us since we were supposed to visit for Easter.
So today we held our first digital dinner party with the part of the family we were supposed to visit this weekend. And it was really great to share a meal and a chat, even if it was digitally. I really recommend this to everyone who’s far away from family. It isn’t the same as being in the same room, but it gives a certain sense of normality nonetheless. We’re certainly going to have more digital dinner parties with the rest of our family as well over the next days.
Joining Superman for a bike ride
After dinner Superman wanted to do a ride with his bike. Making sure we didn’t come close to anyone, we felt it was ok. Superman was really good at social distancing. I was a tad bit embarrassed when he yelled “keep your distance, keep your distance” as this teenage girl passed us on the other side of the road. A tad bit embarrassed, but also happy that he understands the importance without getting afraid.
Working on episode one of “Explore locally”
I’ve shot all the footage for the first episode of “Explore locally”. Today I’ve finished editing of the first sequence in the episode, and I’m really excited about it. I feel so incredibly grateful to have a hobby that meets my drive to create. And I’m so excited to share the first episode. It’s different than what I had in mind, but then again so is everything about this spring. I mean; a few months ago I would never have guessed that we would be having a digital dinner party today.
I hope you’ve had a good weekend! We’re going to keep a low adventure profile for as long as baby boy has this fever. But we will be back with more local family adventures as soon as possible. And don’t forget to check back in on Wednesday for the first episode of “Explore locally” on YouTube. Stay safe, keep washing your hands and get outside!
