If you google “How to start over” one of the first hits you’ll get is an article about 7 tips for starting over in life. Now I don’t want to start over in life, I have too many good things going, but I do want to start over with my content creation.
I’ve not been consistent with my posting on any platforms since starting. But I have made quite a few images, posts and videos, some of which I’ve been quite proud of.
I don’t think it’s a particularly well kept secret that I’ve dreamed of being able to turn photography or content creation into something more than a hobby. But what I haven’t told anyone is that I had given myself a time limit. If I hadn’t been able to establish myself as a content creator before I turned 40, I was going to quit and focus on something else.
The deadline is here – and I’m starting over
And here I am. I just turned 40. I have right around 500 followers on Instagram, more videos than subscribers on my YouTube channel and my blog has about 400 visits on average each month. The deadline is here, and I’m by no means hitting my targets.
But I’m not going to quit. I’ve decided I’m starting over. I’m giving myself a new beginning. A fresh start.
So how do you start over? Well, according to google you
-
start by reflecting on your past experiences.
-
move on to practice mindfulness
-
then you identify your goals
-
before you determine what’s working and what needs to change
-
then you try something new. step out of your comfort zone
-
by now you will most likely have made some progress, so it’s time to recognize it
And at this point, as you’ve done all the past 6 steps, google figures you’re probably struggling to start over. So step nr. 7 is reaching out to a life coach. I don’t know about you. But I think this sounds like a blogpost that are aimed at selling me something. Maybe a few hours talking to a life coach?
Nevertheless, I’m going to give it a go. Focusing on my content creation I will go through the steps and give myself the fresh start. (Because I’m worth it, right?) And if you want to, you can follow my journey. I promise I will report my raw and authentic process. Let’s go!
